Star Appliance Academy – Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Star Appliance Academy (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, programs, and services, including enrollment in any training, certification, or course offered by Star Appliance Academy. By using this website or enrolling in a course, you agree to these Terms in full.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website, registering for a course, or participating in any of our programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

2. Eligibility

Enrollment is open to individuals aged 18 years or older or minors with parental or guardian consent. You are responsible for ensuring all information submitted during registration is accurate and truthful.

3. Enrollment, Tuition & Payment

• A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required for both the Appliance Repair Course and the Sealed Systems Training Program. If a refund is granted under special circumstances, the deposit amount will be deducted from the total tuition cost.

• Tuition fees are due in full before the start of training unless a written payment plan has been approved.

• Payments are non-refundable once a course has begun unless otherwise stated in your Enrollment Agreement.

• We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule any class. In such cases, students may choose a new session or receive a credit toward future enrollment.

4. Course Access and Conduct

• Each student is granted individual access to online or on-site materials. Sharing course access or passwords is strictly prohibited.

• Students must maintain professional conduct and respect instructors, staff, and classmates.

• Star Appliance Academy reserves the right to terminate access without refund for inappropriate or disruptive behavior, plagiarism, or violation of these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property & Copyright

All course content, materials, graphics, videos, manuals, and logos are the exclusive property of Star Appliance Academy and are protected under copyright and trademark law.
You may not reproduce, sell, distribute, record, or modify any materials without prior written consent from the Academy.

6. DNA Clause (Do Not Abuse / Non-Disclosure Agreement)

To maintain the integrity and value of our programs, you agree to the following:

• You shall not copy, share, distribute, sell, or disclose any training materials, manuals, lesson plans, course videos, or business information provided by Star Appliance Academy to any third party, whether for personal, professional, or competitive purposes.

• You shall not use our proprietary methods, logos, or branding to promote your own training or certification business without written authorization.

• All discussions, workshops, and training processes shared by instructors are considered confidential educational property.

• Violation of this clause may result in legal action, termination of enrollment, and/or permanent revocation of certification eligibility.

7. Use of Information

By participating in our courses, you agree that:

• Star Appliance Academy may use your non-identifiable information (e.g., survey results, testimonials, success metrics) for quality improvement, accreditation, and marketing purposes.

• Personal information such as names, photos, or videos will only be used with your explicit written consent.

• Data collected is governed by our Privacy Policy and will not be sold or disclosed to unauthorized third parties.

8. Third-Party Warranty Disclaimer

Some training courses involve the use of third-party tools, appliances, or equipment.

• Star Appliance Academy does not provide warranties on any third-party appliances, tools, or materials used during training or purchased by students.

• Manufacturer warranties apply where applicable and must be handled directly with the original manufacturer.

• Star Appliance Academy is not responsible for defects, malfunctions, or injuries resulting from the use of third-party products either during or after the training period.

9. Certification & Employment Disclaimer

Completion of a course or training program does not guarantee certification, licensing, or employment. Certification may depend on external exams or requirements (e.g., EPA Type 1 Certification).
While we offer career coaching and guidance, Star Appliance Academy is not responsible for job placement outcomes.

10. Refund & Withdrawal Policy

• A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your seat in the program. This deposit will be applied toward your total tuition balance.

• All deposits are non-refundable under any circumstance once submitted.

• Tuition payments (minus the deposit) may be eligible for a partial refund only if a written withdrawal request is received at least 14 calendar days before the start of the class.

• Once the program has begun, no refunds or credits will be issued for any reason, including non-attendance, personal emergencies, or failure to complete the course.

• If Star Appliance Academy cancels or reschedules a class, enrolled students may apply their tuition to a future session or request a refund excluding the $500 deposit.

• Approved refunds will be processed within 10–15 business days of written notice.

11. Limitation of Liability

Star Appliance Academy, its instructors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in our training programs, use of materials, or use of our website.

You agree to hold Star Appliance Academy harmless against any claims related to injury, loss, or property damage incurred while using training facilities or participating in hands-on instruction.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Fairfax County, Virginia.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify or update these Terms at any time. The revised version will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our site and services after changes constitutes acceptance of those updates.
